From a School Project to a Community Movement
Ototutor began in 2015 with a clear observation: finding the right tutor should be effortless. While tutoring math through their high school’s “Math Buddies” program, Abbas Kashanipour and Peyman Bateni saw how challenging it was for students and tutors to connect. What started as an idea to make tutoring more accessible quickly evolved into a platform serving hundreds of students across Vancouver.
Building a Foundation on Mentorship and Technology
Combining their expertise in education and web development, the founders built a system focused on what matters most: pairing each student with the ideal tutor. Within months, their prototype became a live platform: streamlined, effective, and dedicated to supporting student achievement.
By 2017, Ototutor had become a trusted local name in one-on-one tutoring, built entirely through word of mouth and genuine results.

A New Generation of Leadership
In 2022, Ototutor embarked on a new phase under the leadership of Amir Kashanipour, now CEO. Amir sharpened the focus on student experience, academic excellence, and community impact. His approach centers on listening, understanding each student’s needs, creating personalized learning paths, and ensuring tutoring inspires confidence and curiosity beyond grades.
